Customs in Stuttgart Seizes Over 250 Kilograms of Illegally Imported Meat
Stuttgart – Customs officials in Stuttgart seized a significant quantity of meat and other prohibited goods from a bus arriving from Kosovo on Sunday. The incident occurred at the Stuttgart airport bus terminal following a targeted inspection of a bus selected for special scrutiny. According to a statement from the Stuttgart Customs office, investigators were alerted by a strong odor emanating from luggage within the bus.
A subsequent official check revealed 252.8 kilograms of meat products, determined to be unauthorized for import into Germany. Alongside the meat, customs officers discovered 700 packs of contraband cigarettes. Further investigation uncovered additional goods suspected of being smuggled into the European Union without proper customs declarations.
These included four aluminum windows with grilles valued at approximately 720 euros. The Stuttgart customs operation highlights ongoing efforts to combat illegal imports and ensure compliance with EU regulations. Authorities are currently investigating the source and intended destination of the seized goods.
The bus was impounded as part of the investigation.
