Three-million-euro project begins in Bajgora’s Shalë

The Mayor of Mitrovica Municipality, Faton Peci, has announced the commencement of a significant 3-million-euro infrastructure project aimed at improving local public spaces. During a site inspection, Peci, accompanied by Deputy Mayor Enis Osmani and the Director for Public Services and Infrastructure, Naser Muja, observed the initial stages of road regulation works. The current phase of the project is focusing on the Hero Mehë Uka neighborhood and the adjacent Bajgora Square, with plans to extend the improvements to the surrounding residential roads.

Speaking at the site, Peci noted that the investment involves the asphalt paving of numerous roads within the local villages. The overall commitment includes a substantial contract for the asphalt paving of 23.4 kilometers of roads. This initial funding marks a major step in upgrading the area’s foundational infrastructure.

Peci emphasized the importance of the location, stating that the Square warrants ongoing development efforts beyond this initial investment. This initiative represents a considerable injection of capital, totaling 3 million euro, dedicated to modernizing the municipality’s core transport links. The execution of these works is designed not only to enhance traffic flow but also to improve the overall quality of life for residents utilizing the Square and connecting neighborhoods.

The municipality plans to continue allocating resources to ensure sustained development across the region.
