Traders operating at the Vehicle Market in Pristina showcased a diverse range of goods this Sunday, including foodstuffs, tools, technical components, and apparel. Despite the variety of products available, multiple vendors voiced complaints regarding diminished sales and reduced profitability. Naim Hoxha, one of the vendors, stated to KosovaPress that the current market conditions are hindering sales, even though product pricing remains reasonable.
Hoxha observed a noticeable decline in customer traffic and purchasing power. “Sales used to be better, and it used to be easier,” he noted. He elaborated that previously, merchandise or tools were readily purchased by nearly every visitor.
Currently, he reported that inventory can remain unsold for extended periods. Hoxha attributed this difficulty to the increased saturation of the market with numerous vendors and goods. Another vendor, Shu, echoed these concerns regarding the commercial environment within the market.
The sentiment among the traders suggests that while the variety of goods in Pristina remains high, the economic climate is presenting significant challenges to consistent sales volume and overall profitability for the local vendors.
