Two candidates have emerged to vie for the position of Chairman of the North Macedonian Regulatory Energy Commission (KRRE). Aco Ristov and Shamil Rexhepi are the individuals competing for this crucial role. Ristov’s prior experience includes a significant tenure as Mayor of Radovish, serving from 2021 through 2025.
Conversely, Rexhepi currently holds a position within the KRRE itself. Tomorrow, the Parliamentary Commission for Elections and Appointments will review the applications submitted by these two hopefuls. This follows the decision to release a public call for the appointment of the KRRE Chairman.
The call was issued after the previous Chairman, Marko Bislimoski, stepped down just two weeks prior. This resignation occurred following the initiation of criminal proceedings by the Financial Police Directorate. The investigation centers on a case involving the company “Triterol Petrol” DOOE.
The process aims to fill the vacant position within the KRRE, ensuring continued regulatory oversight.
