The VLEN party issued a statement during a press conference today, alleging that the BDI was exposed by one of its own deputies, Rina Ajdari, concerning the official status of the Albanian language. According to VLEN, the BDI reportedly admitted fault regarding the Jurisprudence Exam. Rina Ajdari, a member of the BDI parliamentary group, stated that VLEN’s long-standing claims regarding the BDI’s priorities were accurate.
VLEN asserted that during the time the BDI held power, it failed to prioritize either the Albanian language or the Jurisprudence Exam. The party highlighted a specific legislative action, noting that only a few months after the passage of the Law on the Use of Languages, the BDI voted on the Law on the Jurisprudence Exam without incorporating necessary harmonization measures. VLEN further alleged that deputies associated with Ali Ahmeti played a role in ensuring that the examination would be administered solely in Macedonian.
Consequently, VLEN characterized the BDI’s current stance on the jurisprudence issue as hypocritical. The party concluded that the BDI’s current protests regarding the exam represent a contradiction of its past actions and constitute an affront to the Albanian community. The statements represent a direct political challenge from VLEN to the BDI regarding its commitment to linguistic equality within the country.
