Vuçiq requests Hagë’s release of criminal Mlladiq

Vučić Comments on Mladić’s Deteriorating Health Condition

Belgrade – Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has addressed concerns regarding the health condition of Ratko Mladić, who is currently incarcerated in The Hague serving a sentence for war crimes committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Justice Minister Nenad Vujiq has informed President Vučić that Mladić’s condition is currently very serious. According to reports, Mladić’s health has significantly declined, with the former commander now unable to sit and requiring hospitalization while lying down.

His responses have been limited to brief instances. Speaking to reporters in Belgrade, President Vučić stated, “I have been informed by Justice Minister Nenad Vujiq that his condition is very serious.” He expressed bewilderment regarding the denial of Mladić’s request to spend his final days outside of his cell. “I do not understand why someone is not allowed to spend the final days outside of his cell,” Vučić commented.

However, he indicated no surprise at the situation. The news follows ongoing reports about Mladić’s health, which have prompted questions about his care and access to medical attention while in detention. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
