Xhavit Ukaj rejects his exclusion from the LDK list.

LDK Candidate Expresses Disappointment Following Exclusion from Election List

Prizren, Kosovo – Former Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) candidate, Xhavit Ukaj, has publicly reacted following his exclusion from the party’s list of candidates for the June 7th parliamentary elections. In a statement released earlier today, Ukaj voiced his disappointment with the decision. Ukaj explained that despite being proposed by the LDK branch in Prizren and receiving unanimous support within the local organization, he was ultimately denied inclusion on the candidate list.

“They didn’t allow me to be a candidate for deputy,” he stated. He emphasized his long-standing commitment to the LDK, asserting that his contributions to the party have been consistently driven by dedication rather than personal interests. Ukaj highlighted his active involvement throughout the LDK’s challenges, particularly during difficult periods.

During the statement, Ukaj also referenced his vote against LDK leader Vjosa Osmani at the General Council meeting. He expressed feeling that the manner in which he was excluded was inappropriate given his history with the party. The LDK has not yet issued an official statement addressing Xhavit Ukaj’s concerns.

Further developments regarding this situation are expected.

  1. This decision is a setback for Mr. Ukaj and raises questions about the LDK’s candidate selection process.
