Privacy Agency Reports 207 Complaints in First Three Months of 2026

Tirana – The Agency for Information and Protection of Privacy, led by Commissioner Krenare Sogojeva-Dermaku, has reported a substantial volume of complaints received during the first three months of 2026. As of today, the agency has documented 207 complaints, including approximately 180 that were carried over from the preceding period. Commissioner Sogojeva-Dermaku emphasized that staff shortages and budgetary constraints continue to present significant challenges to the agency’s operational effectiveness.

Despite the considerable workload, a significant number of the received complaints have been addressed and successfully closed. The reported volume underscores the ongoing importance of the agency’s role in safeguarding individual information.

“The Agency for Information and Protection of Privacy has received 207 complaints for (the first three months) of 2026,” Sogojeva-Dermaku stated. Moving forward, the agency is focused on mitigating the impact of limited resources and bolstering its workforce to ensure continued responsiveness to citizen concerns.
