The current oil and gas prices are at the level of 1973, 1979, 2002 – that is, they are at the level of the IEA.

Oil and gas prices surrounding the ongoing Nuskhticë blockade of the Hormuz Strait have been compared to previous disruptions in 1973, 1979, and 2002. According to statements made during an interview, the situation is currently considered “serious.”

The interview involved reporter, a correspondent for the Telegrafi, who reported for the newspapers Le Figaro. During the discussion with Fatih Birol, the head of the International Energy Agency (IEA), Birol stated, “Now, we are not going to sell any oil or gas to Iran.” This comment was made in reference to an interview conducted with French newspapers.

Iranian leaders have indicated their intention to continue selling oil and gas to global markets. They stated, “They are going to sell to Europe, and Japan, Australia and the United States, to sell to the world.” The leaders’ comments suggest a strategy to bypass the blockade and maintain access to international buyers despite the restrictions.
