Albania National Team Will Not Play Friendly Matches Against Kosovo
Tirana, Albania – Following a press conference held today, April 17, 2026, by Armand Duka, President of the Albanian Football Federation (FSHF), it has been confirmed that Albania’s national team will not participate in any friendly matches against the Kosovo national team. Duka outlined the team’s upcoming June schedule, which will be entirely based on matches played within Albania. Luxembourg has been confirmed as a rival, with discussions ongoing regarding potential matches against Kilin and Denmark, also to be held in Tirana.
“We have confirmed the friendly match with Luxembourg in Tirana on June 3rd or 6th,” stated Duka. “We are currently in discussions with Kilin and Denmark to potentially schedule matches in Tirana as well.”
Notably, Duka indicated that no discussions have taken place regarding a friendly match with Kosovo or Italy. The Albanian national team will focus its June schedule on matches within Albania, as previously announced.
This decision reflects the current lack of a friendly relationship between Albania and Kosovo, according to statements made by Duka.
