Bajraktari Expresses Concerns Regarding the Byron Draft Law
April 17, 2026 – During a discussion on the “Tempus” program broadcast on T7, legal experts and researchers examined the proposed Byron Draft Law, concerning the confiscation of unjustified assets and its implementation process. The program featured PDK MP Përmban Gruda, alongside lawyers Ardian Bajraktari and Yll Zekaj, and senior researcher Gzim Shala from IKD. Lawyer Ardian Bajraktari voiced significant reservations about the initial drafting of the draft law.
He argued that the approach taken from the outset raises concerns. “The approach from the beginning regarding the procedure of this draft law leaves much to be desired,” Bajraktari stated. “From its naming and the subsequent approach, there is a perception that the true purpose of this initiative is being obscured.”
The discussion centered on the procedural elements of the Byron law, with Bajraktari’s comments highlighting a desire for greater transparency and clarity in the legislation’s development.
The program aimed to analyze the potential implications of the draft law and its impact on asset management within the country.
