LSDM Leader Condemns Road Blockage as a National Betrayal
Skopje – At a commemorative session marking the 35th anniversary of the Internal Democratic Alliance (LDSM), party leader Venko Filipçe delivered a strong critique of the ongoing blockade of the North Macedonian European road, characterizing it as the most significant threat to the nation’s future and a betrayal of national interests. Speaking before the Central Board, Filipçe asserted that the obstruction of progress towards European Union membership represents an “outrageous lie,” claiming authorities are falsely presenting it as a protective measure. He emphasized that European integration remains the paramount national and state interest.
“There is no greater interest, neither state, nor national, nor security, nor democratic, than alliances with the EU and NATO,” Filipçe stated. He underscored the importance of these partnerships, referencing past decisions made by the LSDM. Filipçe’s comments reflect growing concerns within the party regarding the continued blockage of the European road and its potential ramifications for North Macedonia’s trajectory.
