Family to Receive Remains of Missing Kosovo Man, Sinan Dauti
Prekaz e Perm, Kosovo – A repatriation ceremony will be held today, April 18, 2026, at the Bregaj neighborhood cemeteries to return the remains of Sinan Dauti, who disappeared during the Kosovo War. The remains were identified several days prior following extensive investigation. Sinan Dauti, born on June 17, 1990, was reported missing during the conflict.
According to information from the Government Commission for Missing Persons, Mr. Dauti sustained serious injuries on April 12, 1999, as a result of an attack by Serbian forces. He subsequently died two days later in Mitrovica due to those injuries.
For years, the Dauti family has sought information regarding his fate. “After a long search process and uninterrupted efforts over the years,” the family has finally received closure. The repatriation ceremony is scheduled to begin at 13:30 today and will mark the final return of Sinan Dauti’s remains to his family.
Details of the event are being coordinated by the Government Commission for Missing Persons.
