Air Canada has cancelled flights to New York due to fuel prices.

Air Canada Announces Temporary Suspension of Flights to JFK

Toronto, ON – Air Canada has announced a temporary suspension of flights from its Toronto and Montreal hubs to John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City, commencing June 1st and continuing through October 25th. The decision, reported by cbc.ca, is primarily driven by a substantial rise in aircraft fuel prices.

According to Air Canada, fuel costs have more than doubled since the onset of the conflict in Iran, rendering several routes economically unsustainable. This restructuring of flight schedules is intended to mitigate financial pressures. During this period, Air Canada will discontinue four daily flights to JFK.

However, the airline will maintain operations at LaGuardia and Newark airports within the New York area. Affected passengers will be contacted directly by Air Canada to be offered alternative travel arrangements. The company emphasized that this action is part of a broader reorganization of its flight network.

Air Canada continues to prioritize passenger service and is working to adjust routes to reflect current market conditions. The airline’s commitment remains to providing reliable air service through Canada.
