EU Commences Initial Payments Under Kosovo Economic Growth Plan

Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced today that the European Union has initiated the first disbursements under the Economic Growth Plan for Kosovo, marking a significant development for the nation. The EU has transferred 28.74 million euros to Kosovo’s state budget as loans, according to the Prime Minister. Further financial support is being delivered through the Western Balkans Investment Framework.

A total of 33.04 million euros will be allocated through this framework, comprised of 17.73 million euros in grants and 15.31 million euros in loans. “Last week we concluded with positive news,” stated Kurti. “Now, 28.74 million euros have been transferred to the state budget in the form of loans, while the remaining 33.04 million euros will proceed through the Western Balkans Investment Framework.”

The Prime Minister highlighted the intended use of these funds, specifying that they will be invested in tangible infrastructure projects.

Details regarding specific projects were not immediately available. The disbursement represents a key step in supporting economic growth and development within Kosovo.
