The Ministry of Economy: Measures are being approved to stabilize fertilizer prices and protect farmers.

North Macedonia Approves Measures to Stabilize Fertilizer Market

The Government of the Republic of North Macedonia has approved a package of decisions designed to stabilize the fertilizer market and safeguard agricultural producers. The initiative, spearheaded by a proposal from the Ministry of Economy and Work, was implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy. The measures aim to protect farmers and ensure a consistent supply of fertilizer as the country prepares for the upcoming agricultural season.

The approvals were made in accordance with the Law on Trade. The decision followed a thorough analysis conducted by the Ministry of Economy and Work, alongside the State Market Inspectorate. This assessment examined fertilizer price movements within both wholesale and retail markets from February to April 2026, as well as import fertilizer prices from January to April 2026.

The ministry’s actions reflect a commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and mitigating potential disruptions to the fertilizer supply chain. Further details regarding the specific decisions approved are expected to be released by the relevant ministries.
