Trenčevska: Salaries should be increased, families are barely surviving the month.

LSDM MP Calls for Immediate Government Response to Rising Prices

Jovanka Trençevska, a Member of Parliament representing the LSDM party, expressed concern regarding the Government’s response to escalating inflation and its impact on citizens’ financial well-being. Trençevska stated that the Government has not taken sufficient action to mitigate rising prices. As a parliamentary group, the LSDM is formulating new measures to safeguard the standard of living.

Trençevska announced they are developing new legislation, which she intends to present to Parliament following the unsuccessful passage of previous proposals. The debate surrounding the Trade Union of Farmers and Merchants’ request for a minimum wage increase of 600 euros, coupled with a 100 euro raise for all other wages, highlighted the issue. Trençevska emphasized the urgency, stating, “Workers’ wages need to increase.

The minimum wage needs to increase, as well as other wages. Because with those wages it is truly unbearable, unjust for a family to survive a month.”

The parliamentary group’s efforts focus on introducing revised legislation to address the economic pressures facing North Macedonian citizens. The situation remains a key point of contention as the government continues to respond to the growing concerns.
