Dukagjini Library to Offer Sixteen Hermann Hesse Titles in Albanian

The Dukagjini Library is set to expand its collection with the upcoming translation of sixteen books by renowned German-Swiss writer Hermann Hesse. The initiative, announced this Thursday, will provide Albanian readers with access to the celebrated author’s works. A promotional event was held at the “Agim Lluka” center, attended by guest vendors and international representatives.

Translator Ana Kove lauded the Dukagjini Library’s efforts, stating, “Congratulations, Dukagjini, on this hall, this center, this miracle we say to the readers.” Kove, along with other translators, expressed appreciation for the library’s commitment to offering this new selection of books. She noted, “I am simultaneously, as translators, we are sometimes jealous and envious, I am jealous that I don’t have such a beautiful hall in Tirana.”

Kove elaborated on the translation process, indicating that work began “very late, it…” The project represents a significant contribution to the availability of Hesse’s literature in the Albanian language. The translated books will be a valuable resource for readers and scholars interested in exploring Hesse’s philosophical and literary contributions.
