Kosovo Prime Minister Kurti Opens New Agriculture Offices in Northern Region

Prime Minister Albin Kurti visited northern Kosovo today to participate in the opening of new offices for the Ministry of Agriculture. The event took place in facilities housing the Regional Directorate of the Agency for Development of Agriculture and the Regional Directorate of the Kosovar Forestry Agency. Kurti was greeted by Minister Armend Muja, alongside Xhelal Sfeqla and Elbert Krasniqi.

Representatives from the Mitrovica Municipality, including Mayor Faton Peci and Deputy Arjeta Fejza, also attended the activity. Previously, these agencies operated from rented spaces. The new offices represent a significant investment in the region’s agricultural infrastructure.

During his remarks, Prime Minister Kurti highlighted the critical role of the agriculture sector within Kosovo’s economy. He stated that it contributes approximately 7 percent to Gross Domestic Product. Kurti referenced the long-standing slogan “our meat in our kitchen from our land,” underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting local producers and sustainable agricultural practices.

The opening of these facilities is intended to bolster the sector’s development and ensure continued support for Kosovo’s agricultural community.
