Prosecutors: DNA evidence is key in the indictment against Judge Ristov, for €350,000 found hidden.

Appeals Judge Ristov Indicted Following Evidence of Financial Manipulation

The Prosecution for Organized Crime and Corruption has formally indicted Appeals Judge Gjoko Ristov, citing significant evidence of financial manipulation and concealment. Key to the prosecution’s case are DNA traces discovered on materials used to conceal a substantial sum of money. According to the Prosecution, biological examinations have definitively linked Judge Ristov to the concealment of assets discovered within a wall at his parents’ residence in Negotinë.

The investigation revealed strong and irrefutable evidence indicating that Ristov concealed funds for which he could not establish a legitimate source. Prosecutors allege that Ristov personally manipulated and concealed these financial assets. Initial suspicions, developed during the early stages of the investigation, were ultimately confirmed.

“What was initially a suspicion based on the early stages of the investigation was ultimately confirmed. The defendant offered protection,” a statement from the Prosecution noted. The indictment centers around the discovery and subsequent analysis of the materials used to hide the money, with DNA evidence playing a crucial role in establishing Judge Ristov’s involvement.

Further details regarding the amount of money involved and the full scope of the investigation are expected to be released as the case progresses.
