The appointment of Deputy Ministers, Çitaku: At Albin Kurt’s university, the Parliament has not adjourned and the Government is not resigning.

DPK Representative Criticizes Kurti’s Appointment of Deputy Ministers

Vlora Çitaku, a representative from the Democratic Party of Kosovo (DPK), issued a statement following the recent appointment of three deputy ministers by Prime Minister Albin Kurti. In a Facebook post, Çitaku expressed strong criticism of the government’s actions. The core of Çitaku’s argument centers on the perception that the government continues to operate without acknowledging the political situation.

She stated, “In Kurti’s universe, the Assembly has not been dissolved and the government is not in resignation.” The appointment of these new deputy ministers, along with ongoing competitions for civil service positions and personnel changes, is viewed by Çitaku as an inappropriate continuation of business as usual. “This is not institutional functioning,” she asserted. “It is an abusive mentality towards the state.

When power slithers as if institutions are private property, democracy is damaged and citizens are undervalued.”

The statement highlights concerns about the government’s approach following the dissolution of the Assembly and the ongoing political impasse. The appointment of new deputy ministers remains a point of contention, with Çitaku emphasizing the need for a shift in the government’s strategy.
