Washington – President Donald Trump announced Saturday evening that he would be reviewing a new proposal submitted by Iran. He expressed skepticism regarding the plan’s potential acceptance, stating, “I couldn’t imagine it would be acceptable.”
The announcement followed the presentation of a 14-point response from Iran to a U.S. proposal.
This response, reported by the Iranian news agency Tasnim – linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps – indicated Iran’s belief that issues should be resolved within a 30-day timeframe, contrasting with a suggested two-month ceasefire. Trump indicated that he had been shown the initial concept of the agreement and that Iran would now provide the full formulation. The United States had previously proposed a ceasefire, but Iran’s counter-proposal reflects a significantly shorter timeline for resolution.
