Hoti Vows to Oppose June 7th Elections, Citing Autocratic Intent
Prishtina, Kosovo – Former Kosovo Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, has affirmed the upcoming June 7th elections, characterizing them as a necessary response to what he describes as an attempt to seize control of the state. Speaking on May 2nd, Hoti stated that the election represents a direct challenge to Kosovo’s democratic processes. “On June 7th, we must once again turn to the ballot box,” Hoti declared.
“This situation is occurring because an individual seeks to consolidate power and undermine the state.” He emphasized that this outcome “cannot happen” and that his coalition will actively “not” allow it. Hoti called for a unified citizen rejection of current leadership. “On June 7th, we must all unite in citizen rejection of this person,” he urged.
“Our focus must be on safeguarding the state of Kosovo.”
The former Prime Minister’s comments come amidst ongoing political tensions within Kosovo, with differing views regarding the upcoming parliamentary vote. Hoti’s stance underscores a significant opposition to the current government and a determination to mobilize voters against what he perceives as an autocratic agenda.
