Pristina Education Director Announces Departure Following Mayor’s Decision
Pristina, Kosovo – Samir Shahini, the current Education Director in Pristina, has announced the conclusion of his tenure following a decision by Mayor Përmban Rama. In a public statement, Shahini confirmed the end of his term, expressing pride in the progress made during his leadership. The agreement stipulates that Mayor Rama will assume leadership of the seven directorates within the capital.
Shahini highlighted several key achievements during his time in the role, including the implementation of rigorous standards for teaching practices. He also noted significant expansions in full-day schooling across multiple schools. Furthermore, Shahini cited investments in school infrastructure as a priority, detailing renovations for fourteen schools and the establishment of the new “7 Shtatori” facility.
Construction of a new kindergarten was also completed under his direction. “By the decision of the Mayor of Pristina, my term as Education Director ends here,” Shahini stated. The transition of leadership will now be overseen by Mayor Rama.
The move reflects a shift in administrative control for the city’s education sector.
