The Ministry of Interior has reported a significant surge in reckless driving incidents nationwide over the past 24 hours. Twelve drivers have been taken into custody across the country as a result of dangerous vehicle operation. The authorities’ announcement highlights a serious concern regarding road safety.
Seven of the apprehended drivers were operating without possessing valid driver’s licenses, demonstrating a clear disregard for legal regulations. Notably, one individual from Sveti Nikollë has been summoned for a formal inquiry regarding the circumstances. Further arrests occurred in multiple locations.
Six drivers were apprehended in Tetovo, Kumanovo, Dellçevë, Manastir, and two were taken into custody in Kërçovë. Four drivers in Tetovo, Kumanovo, Berovë, and Resnjë were found to be driving while under the influence of alcohol, presenting a substantial risk to the public. Additionally, two drivers in Skopje and Struga were operating vehicles despite having an active prohibition against driving category B vehicles.
Following the thorough documentation of these twelve incidents, the Ministry of Interior will proceed to file corresponding criminal charges. They are issuing a strong appeal to all drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic laws.
