Two people have been arrested in Mitrovica following a police investigation into suspected drug offenses. The South Mitrovica Police reported receiving information leading to a reasonable suspicion of illegal activity. Officers subsequently located and identified an individual involved in the suspected crime.
The suspect was apprehended while actively engaged in the illicit activity. During a preliminary search, authorities discovered and confiscated 10.4 grams of marijuana. Following this initial discovery, with the approval of a prosecutor, a further investigation was undertaken.
This led to a search of the suspect’s residence, where, during a thorough examination of another individual – a woman – approximately 1.5 grams of a suspected narcotic substance, believed to be cocaine, was located and seized. A criminal case titled “Unauthorised Possession” has been formally opened against the primary suspect. The arrests occurred in Mitrovica, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crimes within the region.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the case.
