Ymeri indicated that Albini has possessed the time necessary, yet fundamentally lacks the political will to conduct the presidential elections. This follows the Constitutional Court of Kosovo’s decision to extend Prime Minister Albin Kurti’s deadline by an additional 34 days. Speaking on Vehbi Kajtazi’s “VV Show,” Ymeri clarified that the core issue isn’t a shortage of time, but a significant deficiency in political determination.
He emphasized that until now, there has been no willingness to resolve the impasse. “The problem is that until now there has been no willingness, which leads me to believe that we should go to elections sooner,” Ymeri asserted. He believes a more advantageous scenario would emerge if a political solution were discovered, rather than the nation facing further elections.
Ymeri commented that the extension granted by the court has complicated matters considerably. “They’ve made things much easier for me; it would be better if they found a solution and didn’t hold new elections,” he stated.
