“The worst offer we have received” – Ramos fails to buy Sevilla

Sevilla Football Club has reportedly turned down a purchase proposal from an investment group spearheaded by former player Sergio Ramos. According to the Spanish media outlet Marca, the club’s directors deemed the proposal unacceptable, characterizing it as the worst offer they have ever received. Sources close to the club quoted by Marca indicated that the group sought to acquire Sevilla for 100 million euros.

The report highlighted that this new offer significantly deviated from previous discussions. Marca noted that despite statements made by Luis Carrion following a meeting at the Sevilla Center Hotel, the current proposal presented by Ramos’s group differed substantially from the preliminary agreement previously reached between the parties. Specifically, the initial understanding, reportedly signed in January, involved the buyers acquiring an 85 percent stake in the club for a valuation of 275 million euros.

The rejection suggests that the financial terms presented by the investment group did not meet the club’s expectations. The disparity between the current 100 million euro offer and the previously discussed 275 million euro valuation appears to be the central point of contention. The club’s stance, as reported, was that the latest offer was substantially below its perceived worth, leading to its outright rejection.
