The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Skopje has initiated an investigation concerning an individual suspected of involvement in a serious traffic incident classified as “Serious acts against the safety of persons and property in communication.” The investigation pertains to a fatal accident that occurred in the area known as “Plastic Street” in Skopje, resulting in the death of a 19-year-old male. According to reports from the Prosecutor’s Office, the suspect, identified as a 31-year-old man, was operating an Audi A4 vehicle during the evening hours on “Nikola Karev” boulevard. The incident took place near the intersection with “Prohor Pçinski” street.
Authorities allege that the suspect failed to adhere to traffic signals and crossed a solid double line. Furthermore, the suspect reportedly entered the turning lanes designated for traffic traveling in the opposite direction while attempting a left turn at the intersection. It was also noted that the suspect was operating the vehicle in a manner contrary to the established Law on Road Safety.
The prosecutor’s office has formally opened proceedings against the 31-year-old suspect based on these preliminary findings. The investigation aims to establish the full sequence of events leading to the death of the 19-year-old victim. The focus remains on determining the precise violations of traffic law committed by the driver in Skopje that contributed to the fatality.
