Check iOS – Word and Excel usage may be interrupted

Microsoft has issued a warning regarding potential compatibility issues affecting Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 packages on certain devices running iOS and macOS operating systems. The company has announced the discontinuation of support for devices utilizing older operating system versions. This change may result in a “limited functionality mode” when users attempt to work with Office documents.

Under this limited mode, users will retain the ability to open and print existing documents. However, the functionality to modify, save changes, or create new documents will be unavailable. Microsoft has indicated that this transition will begin taking effect on October 13th.

To regain full functionality across all features, users must update the operating system on their respective devices. For Mac users, a minimum requirement of macOS 12 Monterey or a later version is necessary. Similar updates are required for devices running iOS.

Maintaining the latest operating system version is crucial for ensuring continued compatibility with the latest features of Microsoft’s productivity suite. Users are advised to check their device’s current OS version and update promptly to avoid workflow disruptions when handling Microsoft documents.
