Rama at the meeting with the residents of Zvërnec: Even 500,000 people will come, the construction of the resort is not canceled

Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama held a meeting with residents of the Zvërnec area in Vlorë to discuss an infrastructure project focused on coastal tourism development and planned investments for the region. During the session, residents addressed concerns regarding the local property situation. One resident spoke about the ongoing legal challenges surrounding their land, stating, “Our issue is still being judged; I am currently on trial for the physical return of the property.

You saw the property for a week, and it is inherited from my father, my grandfather; it killed me. I don’t know what to expect from the court now.”

The resident continued to voice deep frustration regarding the protracted nature of the dispute, adding, “They have torn me apart over 35 years; my father fought for it until he died. We haven’t spoken; the fact that we haven’t killed each other doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be interviewed or that we don’t have a voice.

I felt attacked and hurt by some of your statements. You said that ‘this land is…'”

The meeting with Prime Minister Rama provided a platform for community members to raise these sensitive issues directly concerning development plans and land rights in Zvërnec. The discussion underscored the intersection of governmental infrastructure initiatives with long-standing local ownership claims and ongoing legal proceedings related to the property.
