33-year-old dies in Suharekë after falling from a cherry tree; the case is under investigation

A man who was 33 years old died last night following injuries sustained after falling from a cherry tree in the village of Leshan, located within the Suhareka municipality. The details of the incident were confirmed by Shaqir Bytyqi, a spokesperson for the Kosovo Police for the Prizren region. According to the police statement, the incident took place on June 11, 2026, around 8:30 PM.

At that time, Suhareka Emergency Services notified the police that an individual, identified by initials as F.B., was being transported by ambulance from his residence in Leshan. The reports indicated that the man had fallen from a cherry tree, estimated to be a height of approximately five to six meters. Upon arrival, the victim was initially taken for medical assessment to the Prizren Regional Hospital.

Subsequently, he was transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) in Pristina. It was at the University Clinical Center that medical personnel confirmed the man’s passing. The police report detailed the sequence of events, noting that the severity of the fall resulted in fatal injuries.

The authorities managed the response process, coordinating medical care for the injured individual after the fall. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing, with the police maintaining a factual account of the events that transpired that evening in the village.
