Police officers from the SPB Shtip intervened to stop a 25-year-old man from igniting a fire in the Dolni Balvan village area within the Shtip region. The incident was reported to have taken place on June 11, 2026, around noon, along the Shtip-Kočan highway. The suspect was observed setting fire to dry brush located between the highway and a field belonging to a 36-year-old resident of Shtip.
The blaze involved the burning of dry vegetation. Following the intervention, the public prosecutor’s office has been informed of the matter. According to the MPB, appropriate charges will be filed against the individual after the incident has been fully documented.
The action taken by the police highlights efforts to prevent environmental damage in the Shtip area. The intervention successfully prevented the uncontrolled spread of fire to surrounding areas.
