The sun is calling for investigation: Despite the court’s decision, entry to Vlorë Airport is being blocked, and the investment is stalled.

Businessman Behgjet Pacolli has commented on the recent developments concerning the Vlorë airport project. He reported that his company and associated subcontractors were prevented from accessing the site beginning May 18. Pacolli stated that, at the time of the blockage, the terminal and primary infrastructure of the project were nearing completion.

In his statement, Pacolli indicated that the project was in the final stages of internal cleaning and environmental compliance procedures prior to commencing operations. However, he alleged that access to the airport was subsequently blocked by “unauthorized groups,” who reportedly received assistance from the State Police. Pacolli emphasized the substantial financial commitment to the project, noting that over 310 million euros had been invested.

He asserted that the work undertaken adhered to high professional standards and involved the integration of international technical systems and management structures sourced from Dublin. The concerns raised by Pacolli highlight significant disruptions to what he described as a near-completion infrastructure. His account suggests that external interference impeded the final operationalization phase of the airport.
