The CEC continues counting the ballots from postal voting, 131 counted out of 223 ballot boxes.

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed that the process of counting postal ballots for the early elections of the Kosovo Assembly is currently underway at the Counting and Results Center. The CEC stated that, as of the latest report, 131 out of the total 223 ballot boxes have been counted, representing 58.74% of the total. These ballot boxes contain sealed envelopes that have been processed and approved by the CEC’s voter service.

In adherence to established procedures, the envelopes presumed to hold ballots have been systematically organized into 223 distinct ballot boxes, categorized according to the municipality of origin for the registered voters. The period for postal voting spanned from May 21 to June 6, 2026. During this time, approximately 105,000 Kosovo citizens registered to cast their votes by mail.

The CEC’s ongoing counting process is managing the results from these geographically dispersed votes. The meticulous nature of the counting ensures that the votes received from outside Kosovo are accurately tabulated for the final election results.
