Drita learns from its first opponent in the Champions League

Drita has been drawn for the first qualifying round of the Champions League for the 2026/27 edition. KF Kosova will face Kaunas Zalgiris in this initial European challenge, following a draw conducted Tuesday at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland. Drita was placed in Group 2, a grouping that helped them avoid potentially stronger opposition during this phase of the competition.

Nevertheless, they are slated to face a team that possesses considerable European experience and also aims to progress to the second round. The initial match is scheduled to take place in Lithuania on either April 7 or April 8, with Drita playing as the away side. The return fixture will follow one week later, on either April 14 or April 15, in Kosovo.

The draw process was completed in the presence of other Albanian clubs. Egnatia was also drawn, completing the initial assignments for the participating teams. The pairing for Drita represents a challenging start, as Kaunas Zalgiris brings a degree of established European pedigree into the contest.

Both clubs are focused on advancing through the preliminary stages of the tournament.
