The counting of ballots by mail is concluding

The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed the conclusion of the counting process for the final batch of overseas postal ballots for the early elections of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. The tallying took place at the Counting and Results Center. The CEC announced that the counting process commenced on Friday, April 12, at 9:00 PM, and concluded on Wednesday, April 17, at 2:30 PM.

During this period, a total of 223 ballot boxes were counted. These boxes contained envelopes of ballots that had undergone prior approval by the CEC’s voter service. The official notice provided details regarding the postal voting period and participation levels.

It stated that postal voting was accessible from May 21 to April 6, 2026, and that approximately 105,000 Kosovo citizens were registered to cast their votes by mail. The announcement also referenced the initial election dates, noting that elections were held on April 7, with preliminary results indicating leadership in 24 municipalities for the LVV and two for the PDK, alongside results for the AAK. The comprehensive counting of these ballots is now complete, concluding the official tabulation for the early parliamentary elections.
