At the “28 Nëntori” Gymnasium, which serves as the sole high school in Dibër, initial enrollment figures for the 2026/2027 academic year indicate a low rate of registration. Out of 238 reserved spots, the school has accepted only 32 students during the first registration period. According to statements provided to MIA by Bora Korumi, the gymnasium’s teacher and registration coordinator, a total of 44 students who completed primary education applied for admission.
These applicants included 12 students applying for Macedonian language instruction and 32 students seeking placement in parallel classes conducted in Albanian. Following the initial assessment, a total of 32 students were formally registered: seven for Macedonian instruction and twenty-five for Albanian language classes. The school’s capacity for public high school registration, as determined by the MASH Competition, is set at 238 students.
The current enrollment numbers suggest that the gymnasium is awaiting higher participation levels. Coordinator Korumi noted that a second registration period is scheduled to take place on or before the 23rd of the month, aiming to increase the number of students enrolled at the institution. These preliminary figures provide an early overview of the demand for secondary education within the area.
