French President Emmanuel Macron has expressed support for the recent agreement between the United States and Iran, intended to de-escalate regional conflict. While endorsing the pact, Macron cautioned that it does not constitute an immediate solution to all underlying issues within the region. Speaking on the developments, the French President noted that the agreement, which aims to halt fighting in areas such as the Strait of Hormuz and Lebanon, could help stabilize global energy prices and prevent broader regional instability.
“We have a humanitarian, political and economic responsibility,” Macron stated, adding, “This agreement… is a good thing. I support it.”
Macron issued a call to all involved parties, including Iran, Hezbollah, and Israel, urging them to cease hostilities and prevent a resurgence of clashes.
“Fighting must not start again by either side. We must have peace,” the French leader emphasized. However, Macron was careful to temper expectations, warning that the agreement is not a panacea for every problem and that risks persist.
“Does this solve every problem? No. Are there risks?
Yes, as in every situation,” he stated. He stressed that the international community must maintain pressure and support the ongoing process. For Macron, the primary objective must remain achieving lasting peace and guiding the region toward stability and economic growth.
