A joint law enforcement operation was conducted in Skopje yesterday by the National Security Agency (ASK) and the Ministry of Interior (MPB). The action was part of a pre-investigative procedure targeting potential involvement in the criminal act of “terrorist organization.” During the sweep, authorities successfully seized various digital and electronic devices from multiple locations. Following the operation, the MPB confirmed that its Sector for the Fight against Terrorism, Violent Extremism, and Radicalization, operating within the Department for the Suppression of Organized and Serious Crime, submitted a formal criminal complaint to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
This complaint initiates criminal prosecution against five individuals: J.K. (age 30), J.M. (age 22), M.T.
(age 23), R.K. (age 23), and G.M. (age 34).
The basis for the charges filed includes allegations related to organized crime and corruption, stemming from the suspicion that these individuals may be connected to the criminal act defined as “terrorist organization.” The coordinated efforts between the ASK and the MPB underscore a focused investigation into organized criminal elements within the region. The seizure of electronic equipment is cited by authorities as key evidence gathered during the initial stages of the inquiry. The proceedings remain under the jurisdiction of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
