The Kosovo Agency of Statistics (ASK) has released the findings of the 2025 Agricultural Economy Survey (AES), detailing minor increases across key sectors of the agricultural sector. The data indicates a slight expansion in both the utilized agricultural land and pastureland when compared to the preceding year. Specifically, the total utilized agricultural land area expanded by 510.9 hectares, representing a marginal increase of 0.1 percent.
This growth brought the overall utilized land area in 2025 to exceed 420,000 hectares. Within this total, meadows and pastures, which encompass common land, registered the most significant increase. This expansion in grazing area is primarily attributed to a rise in livestock numbers within the region.
Furthermore, the survey noted a modest uplift in the planted area dedicated to both cereals and vegetables. Regarding cultivated ground, the total arable land reached 189,000 hectares in 2025. Cereal cultivation remains the predominant use of this arable land, forming the backbone of the agricultural output.
These figures provide a statistical overview of the current state of the agricultural land base, highlighting incremental growth across different types of agricultural area utilized in the country.
