Drug raid in Gostivar, three people deprived of liberty

On June 19, 2026, at approximately 8:15 PM, law enforcement officers from NJPB Gostivar conducted an operation in the city. During the proceedings, three individuals were detained: B.Z., aged 27, and A.Z., aged 23, both residents of Gostivar, alongside J.M., aged 31, who is a citizen of the Republic of Albania. The detention stemmed from suspicions that the individuals were involved in the criminal activity of unauthorized production and circulation of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and precursors, an offense classified as a serious violation under Article 215 of the Penal Code.

During the initial operation, police officers discovered a white powdery substance at the residence of B.Z. Subsequently, and following a judicial order, authorities conducted searches at the property, including the basement areas. These searches resulted in the discovery of marijuana.

The three men were taken into custody at the Gostivar Police Station. Authorities stated that following the thorough documentation and clarification of the circumstances surrounding the find, appropriate criminal charges will be formally filed against the detainees. The police confirmed that the operation, described as a raid, was executed to investigate the illicit trade of drugs within the Gostivar area.
