The Albanian Student Union calls for the cancellation of the Graduation Exam

Hykmete Bajrami, a Deputy of the Democratic League of Kosovo, has called for the cancellation of the current structure of the graduation test if adequate organizational improvements cannot be implemented. In a public statement, Bajrami expressed concern regarding the perceived disconnect between academic effort and examination outcomes. She argued that the current system appears to reward skills in replication rather than deep comprehension, stating that successful individuals are currently those adept at copying material.

According to Bajrami, this situation represents an unfair assessment of knowledge. She highlighted a recurring procedural flaw, noting that for six consecutive years, the examination materials have been released proximate to the start of the actual testing period. Bajrami contended that these systemic issues mean the test does not accurately measure accumulated knowledge.

She further suggested that legislative adjustments alone are insufficient to resolve the problem, given that the issue of material dissemination spans across various social networks. Therefore, she maintained that if the proper execution and integrity of the graduation process cannot be guaranteed, the examination should be suspended. The critique centers on the belief that the current structure does not serve as a reliable measure of a student’s true academic attainment.
