Hoxha: A tourism strategy is being prepared for the Sharr Mountain National Park area

On the fifth anniversary of the declaration of Sharr Mountain as a National Park, the Minister of the Environment, Life, and Spatial Planning, Muamet Hoxha, conducted an official visit to the site. During this visit, Minister Hoxha announced several new investments and comprehensive, systematic protection measures intended for the area. Minister Hoxha highlighted that the last five years have been instrumental in establishing a modern and functional management system for one of the country’s most valuable natural assets.

He attributed this progress to the collaborative efforts involving various institutions, local communities, and international donors. Speaking at the park, Hoxha emphasized a guiding principle for future development: achieving progress in harmony with the natural environment. He stated firmly that economic profit must not supersede the preservation of nature.

Furthermore, he confirmed that a dedicated Tourism Strategy for the entire Sharr park area is currently under development. The Minister also voiced his support for the complete and effective implementation of ecosystem compensation mechanisms across the region. The announcements underscore a commitment to balancing ecological conservation with sustainable economic activity within the protected area.

The initiatives detailed by Hoxha aim to solidify the long-term viability and ecological integrity of the Sharr National Park.
