According to a recent notice from the European Commission, the level of public commitment to European integration across the Balkans has shown varied results. Currently, Albanian citizens lead the region in terms of pro-European sentiment, with 92 percent of the population expressing support for EU membership. Kosovo follows closely behind, recording an 83 percent level of support for the integration process.
The data indicates a noticeable divergence in regional outlooks. While Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina maintain a level of support for European goals exceeding 60 percent, Serbia registered the lowest percentage, reporting only 31 percent support. The European Commission noted that citizens within these partner countries generally view EU membership as a crucial investment in their collective future.
This perception links the prospect of joining the bloc directly to national development and stability. The findings underscore that while significant support exists for deepening ties with the European Union, the degree of enthusiasm varies substantially across the nations, with Albania currently setting the benchmark for regional alignment.
