Mayor of the Istog Municipality, Ilir Ferati, has publicly addressed internal pressures originating from several LDK structures calling for the removal of party leader Lumir Abdixhiku. Ferati defended Abdixhiku while criticizing what he characterized as an inappropriate internal approach by certain party branches. Ferati expressed concern regarding the tendency of some groups to attempt to attribute all accountability for electoral outcomes solely to the central level.
He stated that this practice constituted, in his view, an avoidance of responsibility rather than a genuine political assessment. “It is deeply worrying that some LDK structures, instead of an objective analysis of the responsibilities belonging to each level, are trying to shift the entire bar of results only to the central level. This is not a political reflection, but an open evasion of responsibility,” Ferati declared.
The controversy surrounding leadership accountability continues within the party. Meanwhile, Lumir Abdixhiku has indicated his own expectations regarding internal personnel changes. Sources report that Abdixhiku stated he is awaiting the removal of other figures, specifically naming Muhaxher and Ahmet.
Ferati’s comments underscore a deepening internal debate within the LDK regarding governance structures and the distribution of responsibility across different organizational tiers. His defense of Abdixhiku positions him as a key voice challenging the current internal mechanisms perceived as undermining the leadership’s authority.
