A candidate for deputy representing the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) has filed a formal complaint with the Supreme Court concerning the electoral process. The complaint specifically requests a recounting of the preferential votes allocated to the PDK’s deputies. In a statement, the candidate, identified as Haxhi, indicated that the decision to escalate the matter to the highest judicial body followed several developments regarding the vote counting procedures.
He stated that the initial recount conducted by the Central Election Commission (CEC) was found to be inaccurate during the counting process at the QKN. Furthermore, Haxhi noted that a previous complaint submitted to PZAP was rejected. He pointed out that the reasoning provided by PZAP acknowledged existing inaccuracies within the recount but ultimately refrained from ordering a comprehensive recount.
Due to these procedural issues and the perceived discrepancies in the counting methods, Haxhi formally submitted the complaint to the Supreme Court. This action represents the candidate’s attempt to seek a judicial review of the electoral tabulation process, focusing specifically on the preferential votes. The filing signals a formal challenge to the results based on procedural concerns and alleged mathematical errors in the initial counting stages.
The Supreme Court is now tasked with reviewing the claims and determining the appropriate course of action regarding the preferential vote tally.
