Ilir Meta collides with ex-partner Monika Kryemadhi in the courtroom

The trial regarding the CEZ-DIA matter featured a notable confrontation between Ilir Meta and Monika Kryemadhi within the courtroom. During his testimony, former President Ilir Meta denied any involvement or influence concerning the accusations against him, suggesting that his former partner was best positioned to understand the situation. Meta refuted claims of communications with several individuals named in the case file, characterizing the allegations as slander and a fabricated narrative.

Specifically, Meta asserted that there was no influence exerted upon Adrian Shatku or any other party. He denied sending messages to Monika Kryemadhi or Piro Xhixhon, stating that no legitimate interest existed in such communications. Meta attributed the case to the UDB, adding that Adrian Shatku should have appeared sooner upon learning the name, given that Shatku had previously stayed at his home.

He further noted that Adrian Shatku departed in 1989, after which the UDB took custody of him. Throughout the proceedings, Ilir Meta maintained his stance, dismissing the accusations and emphasizing the lack of any improper influence or connection to the events in question.
