Defense Minister Vladislav Misajlovski announced the commencement of negotiations concerning a new collective agreement and associated salary increases for military personnel. He confirmed that discussions with the relevant unions regarding the new collective agreement are scheduled to begin on Monday. Furthermore, Misajlovski stated that salary and pay point increases are planned to take effect starting next year.
He added that in subsequent years, salary adjustments are anticipated to include a percentage increase, contingent upon budgetary availability. Misajlovski also addressed the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to manage inherited financial obligations, particularly concerning outstanding debts. He noted that the Ministry processes payments for several thousand such cases annually.
He emphasized that the current focus, due to budget rebalancing, remains on settling these existing debts while simultaneously ensuring the allocation of necessary funds for other operational needs. The Minister’s statements indicate a phased approach to financial improvements for military personnel, beginning with the negotiations for the new collective agreement and subsequent budgetary allocations.
