Mobile Police units operating in Kočan conducted a traffic stop yesterday, June 25, 2026, at approximately 6:00 PM. Officers from the Mobile Unit for Compensatory Measures, affiliated with the Department for Border Issues and Migration, were conducting routine checks when they stopped an Opel passenger vehicle bearing Kočan license plates. The vehicle was being operated by an individual identified as R.A., aged 37, who resides in Kočan.
During the subsequent inspection, officers noted two key discrepancies. Firstly, the driver was found to be operating the vehicle without possessing a valid driver’s license. Secondly, a verification of the vehicle’s contents revealed a substantial quantity of merchandise: 1,848 items of branded goods, including shirts, sports shorts, and short pants.
Based on these findings, the person was taken into custody. According to statements from the MPB, the detention was executed due to suspicion of involvement in criminal activities, specifically citing Articles 297-a and Article 285 of the Penal Code. Following the procedure, the detained individual was transferred to the General Competence Police Station in Kočan to remain there for further investigation and processing.
